Phew....finally finished my 1st play through of the game. Here's what I think about it.
Basically this review will be a rant, because there really isn't any redeeming grace.
a bit of trivia first, back in the days, when the first Dead Rising came out, i was still playing the ps2. i was very disappointed that it was an exclusive for the 360. THAT first DR game almost made me bought a console. The idea of just roaming around killing zombies with whatever you can find is just SICK ! I remember when i first heard the squeal will be multiplatformed, i was soooo excited, i finally got the chance to experience this game !

#1 Speed
The first thing you'll notice is that chuck (main protagonist) runs INCREDIBLY SLOW ! you're basically walking in the first 1,2 hours in the game, this is no joke. you have to gain speed by leveling up which is very stupid. Like many players already said, there should of been a sprint button like GTA...........

To make things worse .........

#2 Time limit
The game has a time limit on literally everything you do....now that just takes the fun out of everything, you get a walkie talkie call telling you to save 4,5 guys at the same time, to get to them, you have to run!! ignore everything on your way just go do this do that....if you want to save the survivors you HAVE To constantly do missions some times with no break in between(no time)....I know that you DONT have to save the survivors and fight the psychos, but when you're dropped into the sandbox game you would expect it to give you some free time to explore and do stuff....the constant ringing of the walkie and the ever renewing messages serves it's purpose in making it seem urgent, sadly it turns out making it look very pushy.

#3 MAP.
The game has no mini map, the only way to know where you're going is to pause the fucking game and open the fucking map. That a great games for example GTA, Red dead redemption, the mini map helps you to know your surroundings and if you're going the right directions, but Dead Rising 2 has none of that, it just have one stupid arrow on the top of the screen pointing you to your next mission, you can't place markers of the map you just have to fucking know the whole place or press fucking select every few minutes........CHRIST .....

Good luck remembering all save points and locations

#4. Save
Dead rising 2 provides you with 3 saving slots and 7 saving stations ....if dont know why this is...but this is a fucking stupid !! you MUST save at the toilet and most of the time, you're dont have time to go to your nearest(well.....they are spread out so you just have to be lucky enough to have one next to you) if you are unlucky( like me for almost 10 times) you'll encounter a psychopath when you're escorting or saving survivors if you get killed you there's no retry option, you have to go back to the last time you've saved !! this made me rage quite numerous times, since most save points are far from the psychos, you have to do all the bullshit you've done before, go alllll the way back to the place again and fight the SOB again...this is fucking retarded... why couldn't you give me an option to save before a fight? ...you think it's funny/challenging when you're ranking up 8 survivors to get back to the save house, when a psychopath kills you or one of them and you have to go alll the way back....noooo !!!! it's tedious as fuck !!!!!!!!! RAGE

//////tips//////
during the final 2 boss fights, you better not die or save before hand, or you'll have to go along way back..

#5 Smokers.
Nearing the end of the game, you'll encounter a new type of zombies called smokers, why they do is they run towards you and attack you with vomit....unlike other zombies, they are really quick. if you have to run past them you get a 60% chance of getting bit. furthermore, these zombies takes more damage ...meaning you can't just shove them off...by the end, you dont even want to explore you just want to do the fucking missions and see the ending, you can't stand still in one place for even a second to know what's around, these fuckers just piles on you like 30-40 zombies on screen just surrounding you........it's a chance of pace towards the enemy types, but they're so random, you dont even know how they were really created. the sum up, there just there to annoy you....

Conclusion
to those people who has got plat in this game i salute you, it just takes tooo much time and it stops being a fun game in just a few hours...

fuck this game.....one of the most frustrating gaming experience ever....

AC:B single player review

AC:B is a direct sequal of assassin's creed 2, (some say assassin's creed 2.5), i first thought this game was some lame expansion game for ubisoft to milk the franchise, however after playing the game, i'd have to say it's the best in the series.

AC:B takes off right after the cliff hanger in the second game,if you haven't played the second game, dont even try to get this, you'll get very confused with whats going on. (IMO skip AC 1 and play AC2 directly if you want to keep up the pace)

the whole game takes place in Rome, and the map is as big as the second game with much less loading screens. However i felt some areas in the map was poorly designed(or they needed to keep it accurate to the actual Rome, dont know ) there are places you NEED to get to, but they are located on some leveled ground, these places usually have only 1 correct route for you to access, making it EXTREMELY IRRITATING and FRUSTRATING after just running around trying to find a correct path.

Not to mention the horse riding in this game, you can summon your horse whenever in the game by pressing a button, Ubisoft claims that they have improved on the horse riding but for some sadistic reasons, the horse runs VERY F'N slow. You get around 3,4 times in the game where the horse really gallops but this only occurs when chasing someone in the story line(scripted you may say) This is very annoying since the outside of Rome(rural area) is so big and empty.

The story is great and keeps "True" with history, Ezio is now older and more mature, the character's growth from AC2 is very apparent, and its carried out by some great voice acting. If you're as curious as me (opening a wikipedia page and search for the characters actual history while playing the game) you are in for a treat. The Borgia family is well portraited and i'd have to say Ceasre (main antagonist) is pretty well done. (especially the scene with the pope near the end)

A new feature of this game is recruiting assassin's to help you through the game, although this doesnt really happen untill half way in the story, it's still very fun, if you've played Metal gear Peace Walker you'll be familiar with this feature, basicly you just help some random guy fight off a few guard, and he will become an assassin in return. you have to send them out for missions to gain exp to level up. They really do come in handy in some situations where you can't be spotted or overwhelmed in combat.

For treature/trophy hunters, this game is WAYYY better than the last one, remeber having to search the internet for maps and walkthroughs for the locations of feathers, remembers those time when you have 1 more feather to collect and you dont know WTF it's hidden. well, after better the game, you can purchase maps from the merchants for the flag and feather locations. i remember it took me 2-3 days to complete the feather collection in AC2, but now it only took me 2 hours !!!!

Finally, if you're a completionist, i highly suggest you to comeplete the game with a overall of 75% sync. you'll get to play though Ezio's love memory.(really good side quest)

It's a really fun game and deserves betters, would be GOTY for me.(yes i just said that)

next review will be about the multiplayer of the game....and oh boy.......

new vegas

been playing new vegas for a couple of hours already, so here what i think so far. cause im not very far in the game, i'll still keep spoilers at minimum.(at the rocket factory)

i'm a HUGE fan of fallout 3, i've played the game 3 times already and still i get something new everytime.
but new vegas was kind of a disappointment for me, why ?

first off, the game drops you off right from the beginning, no build up, just create your character and start the game, compared the fallout 3 where the first hour you were stuck in the vault, many thought that was too long and boring, but it helped build up the whole vault guy out in the wasteland tone, the image of exiting the vault and seeing the wasteland will be forever stuck in my brain. New vegas on the other hand just doesnt have that "WOW, OMFG what should i do now" feeling.

#2. in fallout 3, quest were clear, factions (although just 2 major ones) motives were clearly identified, you knew the brotherhood was the good guys, the enclaves were the bad guys. Here, you get thrown into soo many different factions, NCR, Legion, Powder ganger..etc...and you only get a brief idea of whats going on, and nothings really explained unless you go dig for it or read the terminal notes.........sigh...

#3. Items and bullets, i understand you can break down bullets and create new stuff but it's wayyyy too complicated.....i get soo many bullet cases, boxes and so on and i dont even know wtf am i suppose to do with them, i've got sufficient ammo just by killing and looting, unless i have to make hollow points or armor piercing(which i dont see the point, cause the damage isn't that much of a difference)

#4. sooo much loot, i'm over encumbered !!! AGAIN !!! dont know why but it seems when ever i kill someone they have tons of stuff to loot and they all carry some junk with them( i'm NOT playing hardcore mode atm)

#5. bad voice acting....just talk with Sunny Smiles..nuff said.

#6. Radio, i've found 3 radio signal so far, and they alll play the fricking same songs over and over........ I LOVED GNR, that's what got me into the good old classic, i can listen to those tracks over and over again, the nexus "more from where that came from" mod even took me further into the genre, ink spots, billie holidays....good times...
but new vegas radio songs are unbearable ....i'll say there are a few good songs on the list.but damn......

#7. shit graphics...bugs arent that a big deal for me, but on the pc, the graphic is like playing oblivion....

just to sum up, the game is a mess, feels alot like a big community mod and an actual retail game.....new stuffs in the game like laser sight, surpressors, extra ammo clips were already made by nexus as a mod for fallout 3 last year...

6/10 for me

WAR FOR CYBERTRON !

I've just completed the both autobots and decepticon campaign of this game and now working on the multiplayer trophies.

To start with, this is an awesome transformer game, screw the movies, this is the real deal mate ! By playing through both campaigns, the game basically tells you what lead the transformers(G1) to come to earth in the first place, you'll kinda get a more inside look into the transformers universe. However i felt that in some cases the story had some unexplained plots, such as what were the personal conflicts between optimus and megatron, the game just starts with "both sides has been in war for millions of years......" so not much was explained yet again..each campaigns spans about 5 to 6 hours depending on your skills, i played the game on hard on the first go so it took me around a week to finish both campaigns, but it really isn't that hard IMO.

the game play is fast and fluent, you can transform in any situation with just a press of a button, it feels incredibly good when you're on a highway, speeding up a ramp and transform into bot form when landing !! hell yeh !!! other from that, the game is a typical third person shooter, the weapons are pretty generic which is pretty disappointing..

for the Multiplayer, you can level up your character by getting xp in matches,(get to level 25 and you'll get a trophy) there's also a escalation mod which is nazi zombie with transformers, however this mod has limited instructions, the first time i got in, i did not know what the upgrades and doors will do, which is kinda frustrating(using mics will be alot better i guess)

i suggest everyone who likes transformers or third person shooters to get this game ! its great for a summer game.

Score: 8/10

boss fights are pretty disappionting ..

My Red Dead Redemption review (my 1st review)

I 100%-ed the game a week ago, and just got the plat trophy on ps3.What i can say about this game is it's good but not great.

I was one of those gamers who was hyped out of their pants when we first saw the trailer, I was SOLD when i saw the free roam MP. I expected soo much about this game, however it didn't deliever as i expect.

SP: 4.5/5

The story is about John Marston, and it seems the trailers kinda spoiled what R* wanted to keep till the last part of the game, but still not much harm done. I advice anyone who wants a good story experience to stay away from any videos on youtube about this game, i read some guys comment and deliberatly spoiled the ending myself..Cry anyway, the ending was EPIC

there are alot of activities you can do in SP, poker, black jack, liars dice, etc. I have to say, it's really addicting to play these minigames, especially liars dice and poker(cheating) i never knew these games in real life but now i'm gambling my life away in the game. lol

1 thing that buged me was that Asian consoles(in my case HK ps3) may get their buttons mixed up in certain parts of the game, i can't do minor stuff because circle and square is mixed up, and especially the arm wrestling(which you will need to play in order to get 100%) is just a pain in the ass.

Overall i felt the SP was good, but at some point i felt a bit letdown, Yes the map is bigger than San Andres, and Yes there are wild life in the game, but comparing to GTA4, RDR is jsut a big sand box with sand...yeah thats right sand...and occationally some trees..In GTA4 you feel the city is alive and stuff are happening around you but in here its just a big vast land of nothingness, alot of time you'll find yourself just riding a horse to a location without anything happening(maybe there are some random events, but they dont occur so often) I really hoped they expanded the cities or add a few more towns..the places to visit are really limited in RDR. And yeh, cougers are the most powerful enemies in the game.

MP 4/5

Now to multiplayer, i was so excited about MP, and i jumped right in after i got the game even before single player. The first thing i got was a shot in the face and some douches chatting on the mic....well that's free roam for ya, if you're not in a posse or high lv, you're just gonna get picked on by other players.

my friend bougth the game a few days after me and we went free roaming, we got the "attack all hideout" trophy on the first time and my friend asked me this question"is that all we can do in free roam? attack hideouts?" apart from doing ridiculous challenges like picking flowers(hunting is fine, some times its fun) That's it. thats all you do in free roam......

The MP matches are good but you'll never lv up by playing those games, that fact is that even if you won the game and was the MVP of the match, you only get a small amount of xp, so people rather go grinding on hideouts(which they could get 10 times more xp) then to play MP matches. also, if you're not goin in with a posse, you'll just gonna get randomly matched up any player, and since they game is relatively new, there are TONS of noobs and newbies around, i'm a pretty easy going guy, but when you're hiding once the match starts or you're trying to get kills when the objective is to grab the freaking bag..well...i'm out..

So overall

Story: 5/5

Presentation: 5/5(i know 360 version is better)

Gameplay: 4/5

MP: 4/5(once you got to 20lv things will get better)

blog

cool, my first post
